I grew up in a small town in Michigan. That's where I started experimenting with photography, and soon I had my first photo published, in a freighter magazine. I liked what photography had to offer -- a chance to experiment, and the opportunity to try new techniques with every roll of film. I decided that a career in photography was the thing for me. I moved to Denver right out of high school, where I apprenticed under a fashion photographer and also worked as a graphic artist. Later, I moved to Seattle and changed my focus from fashion to product and studio-related projects — but I've been hired in just about every area of photography. Today, I'm still drawn by the things that attracted me to photography in the first place: the excitement of experimenting, using lighting and trying new techniques to make the final image as beautiful and exquisite as it can be.
